Common questions
The tuner or key finder isn't hearing anything
Check that Fret & Key has microphone access: open the iOS Settings app, scroll to Fret & Key, and make sure Microphone is turned on. If you denied access when first asked, iOS won't ask again automatically — it has to be switched on here.
I bought the Full Unlock but it's not showing on this device
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. This restores your purchase using the Apple ID you bought it with — make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID on this device.
Something looks wrong on a specific chord or scale
Music theory has real edge cases (enharmonic spelling, uncommon modes, exotic tunings), and we'd genuinely like to know if something looks off. Email us the instrument, key/scale or chord, and what you expected to see, and we'll take a look.
The app crashed or froze
Sorry about that — email us with your device model, iOS version, and what you were doing right before it happened. If it happens again, a screen recording helps enormously.
Can you add support for <my instrument/tuning/feature>?
Maybe! Feature requests are genuinely read and considered for future updates — send it over.
Before you write in
- Make sure you're on the latest version of Fret & Key from the App Store.
- A restart of the app (or your device) fixes more odd glitches than you'd expect.
- Check the Privacy Policy if your question is about the microphone or your data.
